The installation explores human autonomy in a globalized meritocracy & creates a dialogue between biology & artificial systems. Mycelium & technical devices are used to juxtapose the behaviors of humans & fungi. An algorithm that interprets the fungi’s electrical signals helps to mimic human behavior. The organism functions as a living yet externally controlled entity. The observation of repetitive patterns raises questions about autonomy in systemic structures. A tension between empathy and alienation.
